Announced by the Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) earlier in February, the banknote commemorates the canonization of the second Filipino saint last October 2012. Pedro Calungsod is a teenage Catholic missionary who died a martyr in Guam more than three centuries ago.
