New Design Series “Seal Type 5” Issue (1995-present)
1998 ► Introduction of year mark.
1999 ► Names of banknote signatories were added
2001 ► Introduction of  iridescent band & stitched security thread.

Obverse: Bust portraits of WWII war heroes: Jose Abad Santos, Josefa Llanes Escoda, Vicente Lim, Eternal flame of freedom, Laurel Leaves BSP Seal
Reverse: Banaue Rice Terraces (Luzon), Manunggul jar (Visayas) and Langgal hut (Mindanao)
Length: 160mm
Width: 66mm

  1. Bakit ba “hindi nagbago” despite that we already have the New Generation Series na pera? In 2010, I saw the old and new ones circulated, and the year after, back to luma.

    • According to a media release from Banko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP), so as not to waste the remaining inventory of paper and ink still stocked inside the Quezon City-based Security Printing Complex (SPC), they will continue to print the old banknote series.

  2. can you please explain Seal Tyoe 4 and Seal Type 5 . . .

    better yet – kindly inform the public about Seal Type 1, 2 and 3
