1998 ► Names of banknote signatories were added. (ESTRADA – SINGSON)

Obverse: Manuel L. Quezon, Coat-of-arms of the Commonwealth, Wikang Pambansa, Saligang Batas 1935, BSP Seal
Reverse: Malacañan Palace “Palasyo ng Malakanyang”
Length: 160mm
Width: 66mm

According to the Banko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP)so as not to waste the remaining inventory of paper and ink still stocked inside the Quezon City-based Security Printing Complex (SPC), they will continue to print both the old banknote series of the Philippine currency, called New Design Series (NDS) and the new series, called New Generation Currency (NGC), until 2013. The call for fully replacing NDS is expected to be made by the end of 2013.
