Earlier this week I noticed a cropped image of this banknote going viral over the net, but for those who missed it out, it initially went online on 2011 last year, which fronts to be Rizal’s commemorative bill for the event.
This 150 Rizal bill was the actual design proposal by Taklobo Baybayin Incorporated (TBI), a non-stock, non profit organization. TBI’s design proposal was submitted to Governor Tetangco of Banko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) early in Jan 2011. They received a reply informing that BSP will conduct an evaluation. Unfortunately however, it never did make it, thus we eventually ended up with a commemorative medal and a legal tender 1-piso Rizal commemorative coin.
Contrary to what others claimed, it never went out and no actual paper money were made, only a falsely captioned image gone viral. Hope this information would clear things out… Cheers!
FYI guys, Mr. Jose Jaime “JAY” R. Enage is the “Baybayin to the World” Founding Chairman, Taklobo Baybayin, Baybayin Buhayin, and Teachers @ Work Journey Group International.
