Today, Banko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) has issued yet another overprint, commemorating the ongoing 45th Annual Meeting of the Asian Development Bank, which runs from May 2-5, 2012. According to BSP they released a total of 10 million pieces of these 500-peso Philippine banknotes bearing a logo overprint of the 45th Annual Meeting of the Asian Development Bank. The release was aimed to express solidarity with the ADB’s goal to free Asia and the Pacific from poverty, BSP added.
The last time BSP released a commemorative banknote overprint was on August 2011 last year which commemorated Ateneo’s Law School 75th year.
